Meet Betsy
Betsy Schauerman is an experienced private tutor specializing in mathematics, science, study skills, and test preparation for students of all ages and abilities. A passionate advocate for children, she has earned the trust of guidance counselors and child advocates, who frequently refer students to her for support.
With a particular focus on adolescents aged 14 to 19, Betsy excels in helping students navigate the challenges of complex math concepts, especially during their junior year when critical thinking and synthesis skills become essential. Her approach fosters confidence and comprehension, empowering students to reach their full potential.
Betsy’s expertise spans Algebra, Geometry, Calculus and Precalculus, allowing her to provide tailored supplementary materials that enhance her students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. In addition to her private practice, she has served as a field teacher at a Massachusetts Audubon Sanctuary, guiding students on ecology trips, and has taught science and math at Georgetown Middle School. She has also instructed Adult Basic Education classes in preparation for the GED and HiSET exams, provided academic support at the Pingree School, and co-developed an SAT preparation course.
Betsy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Science Education from Colorado State University. Now residing in Montana with her husband, she enjoys exploring nature, reading, hiking, skiing, volunteering in her community, and hosting friends and family.
